Circa 2050, when the world goes to sleep, Dr. Saira Adams, part of a underground network of doctors pejoratively labelled “Vampire Mother’s Network” by the state, dons her invisible cloak and treats women in need of outlawed gynaecological services. But when her own brother, officer Jahaan (Jay) Adams, head of the state’s Special Task Force, captures her treating a teenage girl with septic pregnancy on his secret surveillance camera, he is forced to confront the most fundamental question about his life - did his late mother have the right to choose her own life when he was born?

VMN / Vampire Mothers’ Network (pronounced Women), a sci-fi short film, will be their story, that imagines a South Asian Female super hero - a first in diaspora stories.

It’s an urgent story of our times, and will be a proof-of-concept for a more ambitious sci-fi detective series. The short film will be a standalone entertaining genre story that will also help create an audience base for the larger story.
